2023 Bear Viewing Trip Pricing

$1295 per person

Deposits

If paying with CHECK, a 50% deposit per person is due within 30 days of booking. If the check is not received within 30 days of booking, the deposit amount will be charged to your credit card on file. Deposits can be mailed to:

If paying with CREDIT CARD, a 50% deposit will be charged at the time of booking. For either payment method, you are more than welcome to pay the full amount at the time of booking.

The remaining balance for cash, check, or credit card payments are due any time before or at the time of your preflight orientation at the HOMER SPIT OFFICE THE DAY PRIOR to your Brown Bear Safari between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Weight Limitations

For each passenger, we reserve a max. weight of 300 lbs. (136 kg) fully dressed due to aircraft seat safety ratings. We cannot take you or anyone in your group who is over 300 lbs. (136 kg) and you will lose your seat and your full fare if you do not meet this specific requirement.

Luggage Limitations

We reserve the right to limit the amount of carry-on baggage up to 12 lbs. per person for our tours; small backpack and camera equipment are acceptable. We must have each passenger’s weight before departure. Scales are available at the Homer Spit Office and loading dock.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation made more than 30 days before check-in receives a full refund less $100 cancellation fee per person. The deposit is not refunded if cancellations are made between 30 days and 1 day before check-in. If cancellation is made 24 hours or less before check-in, the full fare will be charged. NO REFUND! You may want to consider your own trip insurance. Ask your travel agent or check out online insurance.

If we cancel, passenger has the option to fully refund or re-booking on a space available basis.

Our Aircraft

We own and operate two 10-passenger DeHavilland Single Turbine Otters on floats. These aircraft are the standard for safe travel in the outback of Alaska’s bush country. All trips are weather-dependent with limits set by the FAA. If we are unable to go due to weather, each passenger has the option of a full refund or rebooking on a space-available basis.

We reserve the right to prohibit travelers from continuing on a journey if in our opinion, these travelers’ actions pose a threat to the safety of themselves, others, or the wildlife, or if these travelers’ actions or behaviors are seriously jeopardizing the enjoyment of the trip for others. There will be NO REFUND!

We require a minimum of four passengers in order to make the trip to Katmai. This is especially true in early June. Every year, our bear viewing season lasts from June 1 until mid-September.
